On the 1st April I had an accident involving a Hertz rent a car. The bloke was foreign and when i phoned hertz they told me to get some quotes and they would pay out no probs.

But a week later i got a phone call informing me that the car was leased to a company so Hertz had nothing to do with it. They gave me the name of the company and a telephone number.

I informed my own insurance company on the day it happened and they said it would be easier to sort out myself as Hertz had already told me they would pay up.

I am still no further forward. The company who leased the vehicle seem to be sending me round the houses.

I found a letter today that had been sent from my insurance company's legal service asking if I want them to represent me and sort the claim out.

Its an old letter which i didnt even know i had.

Is it too late to put the claim through the insurance people.

Luckily, it wasnt a big accident. the other driver pulled out on me and I mounted the kerb to avoid him. he only damaged the front drivers wing.

i just got a letter from my insurance company after 3 months someone put a claim in against me even though they hit me !!!

Of course it's not too late.

You pay through the nose for insurance so use the búggers now you need them, regardless of the time lapse.

Just let them know you aren't getting anywhere yourself and that you are far too busy to be píssed about anymore.
