Import Tax?
I am thinking about importing some wheels from the USA, what is the percentage of Import Tax and is there any way of avoiding it. I know some people say to declare the item as a gift but this does not always work. Would it be avoided if they were delivered to a buisennes for (retail). I.e geta mate to bring them in or something.
ANy help would be great?

so if the wheels were say 1500 pounds it would be at the worst 4% of 1500 pounds and then plus vat on the 4%, which would be an addition of about 70 pounds, is this right?

Import tax is 10%, then u have to pay 17.5% VAT on top of the total.
What I always do, is ask the seller to declare a very low value for the wheels on the customs sheet, say 100 bucks per wheel, then u dont pay much tax!
Have fun,
Mart.
