Looking at purchasing a new digital camera. Looking at 3-4million megapixels and at least a 3x optical zoom. Any suggestions?

Aldi do a great camera in there for £179. I got one and can't complain. You get 2 batteries, a 125mb SD card + all you mention above

Canon Powershot A80 can be had for that price. Agros or 7dayshop are cheap for this one.

In that price range canon are hard to beat. For a while Amazon had the A70 for £99 but I suspect they have run out. As stated above I think Argos had about the best prices on the A80. Great pictures for the money and loads of features as well.

ditto the above, can't fault my A70 for features & picture quality, but i'm waiting for the A90

Just a shame the A70/A80 don't come with LiIon batteries....

What sort of battery life do you get with alkalines?
