<prepares to incur the wrath of the watch tifosi>

Hmm, so what does it do that my £30 Sekonda doesn't? Please bear in mind that I take my watch off if it's likely to get wet, telling the time in the bath isn't a priority

<flame suit on>

Edited to add: nice looking watch, though

On a scale of 0 - 10, with 0 being anti chav, and 10 being full blown chav;

How chav is this post?

Cool

Nice thought about a Breitling a while ago but most are too big for my girly wrists, take it I'll just have to stick to my Rolex and Oakley timebomb for the time being <no pun intended>

No offense to your mate but that's a TAG for you... Not even CLOSE to being in the same league as Breitling/Rolex/Panerai etc.

TAG's have become a fashion accessory - a watch for someone who doesn't know anything about watches. I reckon that TAG's opinion of it's customers is very low. They churn out thousands of mass produced, overpriced junk watches and expect loads of money for them.

And even their prices are coming down - TAG's range starts in the low hundreds: compared to a few years ago when the quality of a TAG meant that it commanded a hefty price tag, nowadays you can trade in a few Burberry caps and Hackett polo shirts for a TAG.

Hardly comparable to a handmade Breitling that took 10 months to build and finish, by hand...

Unfortunately true nowadays, I was speaking to a jeweller friend a few months ago, said he wouldn't touch a modern Tag. Now if we're talking quality a Patek would be my next choice, unfortunately I haven't got £3k+ lying around for the basic model

Very nice watch the Breitlings. They are quality but in my opinion "Anti-Chav" as only people that know about watches really know about them. Rolex is a bit Chav IMO, Breitling isn't.

I have an Omega Seamaster Professional Chronometer. Had it 3 years and it doesn't lose/gain any more than a few seconds every month.

Nice watch mate.

Rolex - Well, its all the diamonds and stuff. In America its Bling, in England its a bit Chav. Again, IMO. I do however appreciate the undoubted quality.

Omega - Well, Bond wore it in his last 4 films so if its good enough for him.....!! ;-)

Senior_AP, true got to agree that some of the higher priced Rolex's are too bling now, personnaly I'll stick with my stainless oyster the now, fitted with a blue face, the Mrs has the half and half with a gold face, once they start cramming loads of jewels into them and making them silly colours ( see Frank Brunos red faced one a few years ago ) it kills the classic lines of the Rolex. If I had the cash it'd be either a Cartier or Patek next or maybe a Corum.

Senior_AP if your Omega makes you a bit of a Chav, I must be Bling then, especially when I wear my Bvlgari wedding ring at the same time as my Rex

1.Actually John,when it comes to used watches Blowers are very expensive.More so the Rolex,where they are around the same price as new ones.

2.Is bling the same as chav,or is there a difference?

3.This week i'll be getting a leather strap anyway so that should "de-bling" it a bit.

4.As for the seamaster,that was the other watch i looked at,very nice i must say.

Bling - If you can afford the item.

Chav - if you buy the item on tick paying of £5.99 a month for the next 60 years constantly justifying the purchase based on its monetary value.

"How can this watch be Chav, it cost me over a grand".......THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT MAKES YOU A CHAV!!!

"Thats' a nice watch" ....."thank you, I like it to".......THAT IS NOT CHAV!!

Wooo-Hooo. Hope this helps.
