company legal wizards
until my solicitor is back at his desk on monday you lot will do
i am a partner in Tiggs XYZ (a partnership!)
i want to set up Tigss Group Ltd and trade Tiggs XYZ as a part of the Tiggs Group.
this will allow me to allo others to trade as, say, Tiggs ABC and have them within the Tiggs Group...leaving them to run their own company but under the Group umbrealla.
so.....what needs to exist between Tiggs Group ltd and Tiggs xyz, Tiggs ABC, Tiggs etc,etc to show that are part of the group but still their own firm? can a contract be drafted to this effect allowing them use of the Tiggs Branding (which i own) and making them behave properly while still leaving them in control????? or is it to much hassle?
the objective is to grow the Tiggs name without being responsible for people screwing up.......in otherwords if Tiggs ABC ***** up thats their proplem- i just withdraw their brand rights and leave them to it?
possible??

Sounds a bit like you want to Franchise to me rather than Tiggs Group owning a controling share in each of the companies. The latter would certainly make you liable, to a degree for the failings of the child companies. Not sure on the ins and outs of franchises
