I got a ticket at the station car park a couple of months ago but completely forgot to pay the fine. Now I have a demand from their debt collection department (car park is run a by a pvt firm) demanding money or they will take legal action. Would they really take action against me or should I just pay up and forget it ?

Also what proof do they need I was there ? Is the fact the inspector wrote out a ticket proof that my car was there ?

 

Just pay up, as they wouldn't hesitate to take action against you, then it will cost you more.

 

I got a parking fine while parked at a retail park for over 2 hours- the fact I was shopping in there didn't seem to bother them.
Was a private company as well, I just wrote them a letter saying that my car had never been parked there and that there must have been a mistake and could they send me photographic proof. Never heard anything else from them.
