House burglary - anyone have any tips for getting property back?
Hi,
My parent's house got burgled this afternoon. Obviously after small items and/or cash, as not much taken.
Anyway, one particular item of jewellery was of quite sentimental value, but probably not worth a huge amount. A family heirloom really - used in all the family weddings etc, so mum is quite upset it has gone....
Anyone had any success trying to get items back? What methods did you use? CID could get no prints, so who knows who it was.
Worthwhile advertising in local rag?
Let me know of your success stories and/or tips!!
Really annoying this sort of thing. This particular item would probably hold little worth to the thief, and perhaps they may not get much cash for it, but I'd quite happily give the thief £100 to leave this item behind! It's priceless really. Scum!
