Default disabilty discrimination?

hi all
my wife is on long term sick from work and is registered disabled as a result of a brain haemorrhage last year
thing is her personnel manager has meetings every month or so
and at the last one told her she was a burden on the department
resources (got this in writing)
is this discrimination ?
i only ask because the guy has tried withholding annual leave payment etc from my wife and told her that when her last sicknote expires(august) she will either have to retire on ill health ,come back as normal,or be sacked because there are no reasonable adjustments he can make to her job
in short hes being an *** and i want to get him for it
is there anything i can do?
cheers richie

CAB will help, as will the local law association - they usually have free nights where you can go in, give specific details of your case, and go from there.

My mum was recently made redundant as she was on long term sick leave, stress etc, and her company bascially said you don't know the position any more. Unfortunately, a previous subordinate of hers did

Luckily she got a large payout as she had worked there 6 years. Not offering redundancy or a compromise agreement in this situation is a bit shabby IMO.

The company needs to find suitable work for her that she is able to do with her disability. Find a solicitor that specialises in employment law. They will usually give the first interview free, she may also qualify for legal aid. Contact support groups (Yellow pages?) that support your wife's disability as they will also have contacts. May also be worth speaking to the social services as they may also be able to help.

Good luck to you both.
