Florida - Buying a House
Anyone done it?
going to?
decieded not to?
i'm going out to florida in 4 weeks to look at buying a house @ £100-150,000
any hints or tips appreciated.

I briefly considered it but was put off by the following:
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
- Foreign ownership is becoming increasingly difficult in Florida
- The immigration service has never done the US any favours but as of September it will only become more difficult to enter the country which will put off prospective holiday makers.
- Although housing looks cheap compared to the UK, you have to factor in any exchange rate movements and only a hopeless optimist would bet on it becoming even more favourable.
- It's not close enough to use as a weekend break, which is a requirement for us.
