It's beautiful - this is wonderful compared to the 111 degF/43 degC heat of Arizona last week - which was where I was lucky enough to be working. Fortunately the Americans see fit to air condition everything so it's no bother, but step outside and it felt like someone was trying to incinerate my eyeballs.

Lovely weather, IMO Never too hot in my book (used to hot climates).
The problem is that most houses and offices in the UK are built to RETAIN heat...all for the sake of energy efficiency in winter.
The regulations that are in place with new building in terms of thermal efficiency are mad! Somebody should tell the idiots whole make these guidelines that it costs more money in electricty to cool a building that it does to heat it

What is with a/c in server rooms?...I used to fit the things, you get poor buggers in the offices without a/c while the server room get's a/c
A large ducted fresh air ventilation system would easily keep it at less than 25 degrees. But no, compaq, HP, Dell or whoever insist on A/c, and a backup incase the 1st dies.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't a system can run up to 50-60 degrees before it goes into thermal runaway?

Nope a crappy dilapidated old building with really poor aircon / old man upstairs blowing into the ducts.
Really bad when you consider the size of the company

Yes you can run a PC up to 50-60 degrees, bit like you can run a car at the red line, but it isn't wise to do it for extended periods. Besides which the colder electrical appliances are ther faster and more efficiently they run.
