Exclamation Is this a scam..........

I have parts to sell and have got a few emails from this guy.
I think its a rip off my self.Or am I being paranoid?
(this is for Lancia parts by the way)
Pete

"Thanks for your message including your last asking price .Meanwhile,I
would be paying through a client of mine that is indebted to me in
your country. I would not mind instructing her to raise her debt in
your name, which amount shall cover both the cost of my order and
shipping. Already.I have made an arrangement with a shipper here That
has an Agent in your country.they shall come forward to your
location and pick Up my order once you receive and confirm payment,
OK... I hope this is clear to you.
Therefore, kindly email me with the following for onward Processing
of the Cashier's check payment and you will deduct your real cost of
the bonnet, intercooler and gearbox all together which is (£175) and help
me send the remaining balance to my shipper through western union
money transfer.
1. The Name that you want issued on the Cashier's
check.
2. Your physical address for receiving of the check
3. Your direct telephone number.
Once, I receive the above information from you, I will
consequently forward it to my client for onward processing of the
payment. Looking
forward to receive the above information
today.
Regards.

It has SCAM written all over it! Honestly, ignore the email and don't take the risk. I work in fraud prevention and this sounds exactly like a Nigerian 419 scam - same symantics and procedures. (The person isn't in South Africa or Lagos is he?!)

Of course, I have no proof this is a fraud but it looks very much like a lot of the emails we're seeing reported lately. Sellers beware!

generally, in a hope of putting a stop to this sort of thread, if it looks like a scam then it probably is?

Check out: http://www.419eater.com

GREAT Scambaiting website - if you've got the time you could have some fun stringing this bloke along for a while!

Check out the gallery section!

I had an email from a bloke offering to buy around $20,000 worth of a product I was selling. If I had persued it, I'm sure there would have come a time when he would have made me aware of some kind of 'clearing fee' or 'admin fee' that I would have had to pay.

I wish I had wound him up for a bit now...

honestly, you lot are so cynical.

i really don't see anything wrong with that email. in fact, i've just contacted the guy and given him my bank details.

we'll see who's laughing when there is £1.5M in my current account.
