mobile phone unlocking

how do i do it or get it done??

a m8 of mine has a nokia that is locked but it is not the network lock it is an imei no: lock

imei locks are permanent across all network to crack down on phone theft, changing an imei number is illegal and carries up to 5 years!

i just unlocked my nokia, in other forums it says you can only do it with a data cable but i use the site in the link above, what nokia is your, see if its in this list

An imei lock is usually because the phone is stolen. Did your m8 buy it in a pub?
