How long do endorsements to a licence take to put on?

How long do endorsements to a licence take to put on?

As the title, just got a fixed penalty for speeding

, and need to send my licence off to be endorsed. But, I go on holiday soon, and need my licence to get a hire car, anyone know how long it will take to get back?

Varies.. but I think it took about 4weeks or was it 6 last time..

More busy due to speed camera's these days so might take longer..
ring them up you might be able to visit to get it done..

Devon & Cornwall told me "return of post", turned out to be 6 weeks

Write to them explaining you've "lost it" and will need to apply for a replacement. Go on holiday then mysteriously find it when you get back.....

Its not an offence not to surrender your licence, so you are noyt under a legal obiligation to send it in the 1 st place. The DVLA endorse your driving RECORD in any event, so the points will still go against your name on their database....and its irrelevant whther or not they are written onto your licence,......courts work off the DVLA database, not licences....
