Default Question about plaster casts

Just come out of plaster after a month of no driving etc etc.

Basically I've ruptured the Ulnar Collateral Ligament apparently.

Now its out of plaster it doesn't feel any different to when it went in

Being a rather busy chappie I could really do without going back in to plaster if I can avoid it, but I've been told by the specialist that I'm more than likely looking at an op to stitch the ligament and then back in plaster for ages.....

Here's the question- are there any alternatives to a full arm plaster? could ideally do with something plasticcy that just held my thumb relative to the hand, that I could drive in, shower without having to gaffa tape a binliner to my arm etc etc....

Anyone up of casts?
