Default Best place to buy $1500?

Off to Cuba, whic is a bit scarce of ATM's and tourist friendly banks, so have to take cash. Where's best to go for about £800 in USD? Cheers

Most agents have the same rates, Thomas Cook are good I think I saw they have a deal on at the moment for USD. Something along lines of if you buy x amount you get it at a better rate. Hope that helps.

Post Office is the best. You will probably have to pre-order it though. No fees either (at least it wasn't that last few times I used them).

Cheers

open a citibank dollar account. if you have your current account with them and earn more than 40k, you can get a euro and dollar account free.

You can then transfer money from sterling to euro's or dollars at the exact market rate and no charges (as long as you have >2k in your accounts).

if you want the real cash, you can arrange to collect it.

probably not worth it for a one off holiday but if you travel a lot or import goods saves a lot of cash overtime.

If you have time try travelex's web site they offer better rates for web orders than you get on the high street

Travelex by web was best - $1.71 was fine by me with no comission and no charges by Nationwide for paying by Switch. You saved me $24 compared to the $1.68 I'd seen!!!! Some times I love Scoobynet
