"Legal terms" - help please!
Can somebody please tell me, when after you've entered a plea of not guilty, and it goes to trial, what is your "intermediate diet"?
I have been given 2 dates...
"An intermediate diet was fixed for *******. Trial was fixed for *******
which is 2 weeks later.
Can anybody help me
cheers.

a quick google found this...
The Intermediate Diet
Before the date has been fixed for the trial you will be required to appear in court at an Intermediate Diet. This appearance is so that you can tell the court whether you are still pleading not guilty and if you are fully prepared and have all your evidence including any witnesses, ready for trial. The Intermediate Diet is held before the trial date so that if there is any reason why the trial cannot go ahead on that date, a new date for the trial can be fixed without witnesses having to be at court. The court may take into account an early guilty plea. You must appear at the Intermediate Diet.
