Any vets in the house?
Kodi has managed to smack his eye into something today and it looks as if his eye ball has sunk slightly into it's socket??
I've got him booked in at the vets tomorrow but just wondering if anyone knows how serious this is? I'm hoping they have something like a plunger that will just suck it back into it's original position...
Going to bed now but hoping to find some answers tomorrow morning....thank you

Simon,
I'm not a vet, but try doing a search for Enophthalmos and causes thereof. Could be due to trauma to the orbit (socket) of the eye or to the nerves. Only a proper examination can tell how serious it is though!
Does the eye move with the other one, and does the pupil react normally?

cracking looking dog.. if the vet doesn't know what to do with it, then ask him / her to refer you to specialist vet.. my old beardie ended up with one eye towards the end of her time because of a **** up of our usual vet.. the specialist however, was very good.. and managed to rescue the sight in her other eye...
sure it will be ok..
good luck !

It doesn't look so sore now but his eyeball is more or less in the same position (still sunk in). The vet said it could be a strained tissue or there could be some foreign object inside (the latter was not the case after using some special die to check if he'd had any rip or rupture of his eyeball). I've been using some special eyedrops prescribed by the vet but this hasn't seemed to help much except get rip of the redness.
There's a eye specialist coming in from Australia in about 2 weeks from now and I've got him booked at one of the top clinics (top as in £50 for a consulation without medication!! ). The wait is OK as he doesn't seem to be any discomfort...
Here is a picture of the him with Hollie and MIB:
he's got the damged eye closed because of the camera flash but otherwise it's usually open. (I got rid of the red eye in Hollie and Kodi but don't know how to get rid of green eye in MIB...LOL )

JayBird, they're both Siberian Huskies.
ajm, all I know is that the pupil doesn't dilate as fully as the good one. It could be the result of the inner eyelid causing this reaction because it covers part of the eyeball. The vet said a lot of things half of which I don't remember because it's not important but I'm not going back to see this particular vet as Kodi isn't at all in any discomfort (still naughty as hell) so he can wait until the specialist comes in. Another plus is that his blinking reaction is still normal when I wave my hand infront of the 'bad' eye
