Default Cabins/Sheds

Hello,

there used to be a greenhouse at the end of my garden, whcih was derelict and i have now demolished. i was thinking of replacing it with either a rendered building or a "log cabin" type shed. does anyone have any experience of these? the main problem i can see is that i want the building to span the whole width of the garden, and they only come in a few different sizes. would i be better off going for a breeze block and render type thing?

sort of "log cabins" i was looking at:

btw the space is about 5.5m x 4m

I have a mate in Hertfordshire with his own shed company, so let me know before you purchase and I will see if he can supply any cheaper.

I could be wrong, but have you checked with your local planning authority regarding planning permission for that size of structure. Then again if you can get approval from the old neighbour-roonies then you shouldnt have any probs.

Dad built a studio 14 yrs ago about 16x20'. ISTR he chose the dimensions as it was a foot short of the need for planning permission.

apparently, you don't need planning permission if it is under 30m2 and 4m high. (and at least 5m from your house)
