Pics of the crashed reyland Escort... (gumball)
Lucky to be alive i reckon- considering the speed they crashed at.

Luckily they have Meguirs sponsorship, so have plenty of polish -

Sorry, I think the manufacturer will forfeit donating the polish as they appear to have removed the sponsor's sticker.
Aside from being silly, that looked like a horrific crash for the Cossie.

I read somewhere that the co-driver in the cossie was thrown clear alledgedly as he wasn't wearing the harness. However considering the damage to the car this seems unlikely.
I don't see why the owner of the car should object to the photo's being here, after it it was an event on public roads, and no one was apparently seriously hurt.

From what I've read the passenger unclipped his harness to reach his camera when it happened. From accounts something happened between the Escort, a Diablo and a car not connected with Gumball.
Its quite shocking how far away from the road the finally stopped.

If it's the one I partly built, the bodyshell and cage was done to build a Group N car. Martin bought it part finished as he wanted to build a very strong road car but never expected to need the safety features.....
If anyone can put it back together, Martin can, so I hope we haven't seen the last of it.

I see no problem in posting links to pictures on the official Gumball site, after all, they were taking part in a famous competition. They are both very lucky to be in the state they are, considering the state of the car.
Hopefully some young hot-shots who think stuff like this never happens will see the pictures and maybe think twice next time they feel like trying to prove a point on the roads.

This is the post by Stu [Webby on PF] and IMO, I think SN should also respect the feelings for the families of Martin and Porkie.
**The picture post has been edited by me, pending Martins opinion of them being posted on PassionFord.**
They are not very tasteful for Martins wife and children to be seeing on here when their husband/father is still thousands of miles away in an African hospital, and the same goes for Porkies friends and family.

come on guys. give the guy a break.
Let's just find out whether he's happy or not. Nobody is going to get hurt by the pictures not being there, I'm sure we can all cope.
All the best
