I know a long time ago i was reading about the adkins diet and people were saying that bad breath can be like a side effect...

...what is it that causes this?? Is it due to too much protein? lack of protein? lack of carbs??

Just curious because although i'm not on the atkins, the day after the gym sometimes i alway wake up with a terrible taste in my mouth... yet other days i don't have a problem.

Any ideas??

Could be the ketones in your body not getting enough water to flush them out through your urine.

Try drinking more water after gym.

Never smelled an Atkins dieters breath but it should in theory smell of peardrops, as this is what ketones smell of!

The ketones do make the breath smell but it is not like peardrops. Can't describe it myself.
