importing parts to sell, story with tax/legal things?
Just wondered as i was looking at various bits in USA &/or Japan & [retard mode on} wot the story was with doing it purely from my own pocket kinda thing wot score would be, doing it legit , with any excess i was able to sell it or otherwise was in terms of taxation/declarions or otherwise was?
Presume if VAT & import tax was paid when coming into country it would only be potential income related stuff from any profit but er i dunno **** i was just looking at idea of making sum money off cheap goodies in USA & Japan while exchange rate was so favourable.
Any thoughts or otherwise would be appreciated.....
Cheers folks...

when importing you best get a import duty code on what your after.... HS Customs can give you one... or somewhere like DHL will have most products on a computer file. this is so you pay the correct Import/Tax duty... if you don't have it.. you could be paying 20% instead of 10% for example.
you have to work out shippng cost too.
Carriage cost and Product cost are subject to VAT
then they add the Import/Tax Duty on top too.
thats a rough guide for you simon.
carriage cost would be the first thing i'd look at if i were you.
