Default Transferring reg from car 1 to car2

Off to the dvla today:

I have

Reg docy car1
Reg docy car2
Tax disk car1
Cheque for £80.

There is no tax disk on car2 at the moment, but I will be taxing it there.

Anything else I need?

theres a form you fill in there, cant remember the number, but there very helpful. also you will need your mot certificate, not insurance. if its the dvla office your going to go about 3pm! specially if its the notts one. othrewise it will be packed!!

I have my insurance but didn't think I needed it.

Both cars are 53 plates so MOT not required.

You definitely need the insurance as you are taxing one of the cars......

Patience - they used to do transfers there and then, but they now take a photocopy of the tax disks and it takes around 10 days

went to dvla local office in Nott'm on Monday, to register plate on wife's car, took 5 minutes, they even printed of a new tax disc there and then.

they kept the log book and told me it would be about 3 weeks before it came back but i was legally allowed to change the plates on the car

forgot to add, plate was already on retension thou,

make sure if the car is ur wife's then she must sign all the documents or the car will be registered to you
