Will he go down ?!?

Will he go down ?!?
A mate of mine had a bit of bad luck at the weekend.
After quite a few pints he wanted to go home so he and a few mates jumped in his car and drove home.
After a few hundred metres he drove into the back of a 4x4 !! That was parked.
Any way in good old rally style he started driving it home but it died so he had to park it up a side street !!
They all started walking home and tried to thumb a lift. A man stopped who was drunk too ! He said do you want to drive my car cos im too pissed. The same lad who drove into the parked car says yes right oh. So he gets in a drives it unfortunately it runs out of petrol and they come to a hold. Mean while the cops think something looks suspicious and the previous crash has been reported.
The cops ask for the SAID person who crashed his car and they said that they didnt know who he was !
Any way with a few hours of questioning and things. He did the old "No comment" polaver when being questioned. When they said is there any thing you would like to say before they close the interview. He says " Yes, I confess, I did it all ! "
He has been charged with
Drunk driving
Leaving the scene of an accident
Theft of a motor vehicle
Giving false details- Lieing to the police.
He's been charged with theft because the other bloke hasnt got a license and was drunk too ! And it wasnt registered in the other mans name !!
Its not his first offence.
He is due in court tomorrow !
Any body have any ideas of what he could get ?!?

Not very helpful but hopefully a stretch: both time, and battyhole whilst doing said time.
Will he go down? Probably not much choice if his cell mate is a big hard bstd. Serves him right

If true, it's not bad luck, its sheer stupidity and disregard for anyone else's property and life. He deserves everything he gets.

However sensible people realise that if they are caught they will lose their licence for 12 months (minimum) and find insurance is prohibitive afterwards and therefore don't drive.
To drive, crash the car and then drive another car is just so stupid as to beggar belief.

Its the 'theft' charge i would be worried about.
The others will result in a ban, but the theft could see him being sent down in combination with the others.
Not quite sure how they can call that theft, unless the guy that said to drive 'his' car had stolen it, and by being in the drivers seat your mat has taken the rap for it.
A tool of snap on proportions methinks

ive never heard anything so ridiculous in my life! IF its true, and judging the current state of the cps and the fcukwits they call magistrates these days, he'll probably get a fine and community service. deserves to do a stretch for sheer stupidity alone.

What a complete ****. I hope the first words he hears when he gets into his cell is (in a gruff deep voice) "Come here and suck mummies ****"
Personally i think it will be 6 months inside, banned for 3 years and hopefully a decent bloke will get his job and make a good life for themselves.
IMHO of course

He really does deserve all he gets! He could have so easily killed someone driving drunk and depsite crashing into a stationary object he they thought it would be a good idea to a) keep going and then b) drive someone elses car whilst STILL drunk!!!! He just never learned as this night went on and the law should reflect that IMHO!!

I must say. This goes on alot round by us living in the country. The police turn a blind eye because there isnt much traffic. They have enough to do in the towns and cities !
Nearly everybody young, that lives near where i come from, who's abit wild has absolutely trashed a few cars or too driving about !!
I come from the heart of rallying country !
By the way. It is not me !
