Checked my on-line credit card statement today only to find £3,250 of transactions (in 2 days ) that were nothing to do with me!

Card now cancelled & card issuers fraud investigation team will review "as soon as their backlog allows".

I have to say that I'm shocked as to how easy it is to use a cloned card for large transactions - one was for almost £1,600 at PC World - with seemingly no further ID checks.

Anyone else had their card cloned and - if so - how thorough did you feel the card issuer was at investigating?

I can't believe that it's taking the card issuers so long to get chip & PIN technology up & running in this country.

This episode might not have cost me anything personally but I'm still very p*ssed off that some scumbags have been able to do this.

In the town that I live in, the swipe entry into the HSBC bank had been tampered with by a fraud gang and was recording details from peoples cards, I think they skrewed quite a few people with it

Had mine cloned too thanks to a Shell petrol station employee.

Just over £2,000 in a few days as my statement arrived preventing further abuse.

Rang my bank who didn't in the slightest seem concerned, obviously they were for me but it's such big business that it's the norm now.

Money was refunded immediately and I never heard another peep.
