Inland Revenue / Benefits Office - Tax Credits etc
As most of you know I 'resigned', and well before I got back together with my ex she was awarded £109pw child tax credit. Well since her being re-assessed with my salary for 2001/02 (dont know why they wanted such outdated salary info BTW) shes now been awarded £34pw, even thoyugh I'm unemployed - WTF! Apparently she now needs to re-apply stating 2002/03 salary which for us is still £48k. What fecking relevance is 2002/03 salary - surely they should be assessing it on 2004>, ie £15k (gf's 16hrs pw earnings....!)
Makes me so fecking mad, shes been told 4 or 5 different things now on how to claim, even that if I get a job in a few months time that even if she is awarded £109pw again that this will be clawed back if our 2004/05 earnings exceed £25K (ie her £15k plus my £10K - if I earn that much 'retired').
CVUNTS all of 'em!

i found the set up quite easy although a bit daft.
i applied based on 2000/2001 pay which was 120k but the once you are on the system i reapplied based on my relevant earnings which were 5K.....payments came through soon after.
call them....i found them very sensible.

Are you sure it`s 'per week' as I only get £34 PER MONTH..........
Peter earns slightly more than you, not much though, and I think £34 is about right for that bracket...........however the less you earn the more tax credit she will receive!!!!!
Peter gets stopped £230 per month and then I get £34.........which makes me MAD!!!!!!!!!
If you were receiving £109 then I think I`d put up and shut up before they ask for it back!!!!!!
Joan.
