Anyone had a family Easter?
Had all the family around today for lunch. Do it every Easter and have a great time. Seems daft that we dont do it more often really. Same at Xmas. Family get togethers are something we don't seem to do often enough in this country. Spent 6 hours and 10 bottles of wine over lunch.
French do this every weekend. They seem to have got things right over there again.
Chip.

Are you still allowed to say the "E-word"? I can see that maybe causing offence to minority groups.. Im sure the PC term is "spring break" or something now
Sounds like you had a good one though

You're lucky that you have a family that you want to spend the time with. I spent Christmas lunch listening to an uncle explaining to me that he wants to see speed cameras installed everywhere just to see that the law is properly enforced, yet dismissed widespread driver training and limits that vary with the conditions as 'too expensive'. To cap it all I had to drive home afterwards - otherwise those 10 bottles could have come in handy

We had the next door neighbour around for dinner, which was very nice.
What got me yesterday morning about Easter though, was that I was running a sailing course, and all the kids on it, seemed to have received presents for Easter - not just the usual chocolate etc, but clothes & other stuff
What's going on there then? I've never done that. Easter isn't meant to be a present-giving time, is it?
Anyone else encountered this?

Nope, not family orientated at all.
Easter Sunday, delivered a few eggs to my two Nieces and three Nephews, was told to slow down every time I changed gear. Had a pub/bar meal with the other half, then went back to the same pub/bar later and had a 'few' scoops...
Today, have dinner, watch SuperBikes then go back to aformentioned pub/bar for some more of the same.
What a boring life I lead........
Four days off and no gym, but I have thought about going.....honest.
