Golden Brown by the Stranglers, whats that all about then ?
Superb song, supposedly about drugs ?
Where did it come from, just so mellow and mysterious. I can remember listening to it as a kid one winter, we were going sledging and my dad used a Nissan 120Y Coupe he was selling because it had a good heater and we went to this place 'In the Hills' as there was snow (and hills), apparently some kind of seminary (Monk) school and I can distinctly remember Golden Brown on the car stereo. Cracking days sledging and really cold but the DATSUN (too early o be a Nissan) and Golden Brown warmed us up again on the way home.
Whats your earliest memory of this superb song ?
Could be the start of a new type of music thread, a bit different to the usual, 'What are your ten favoutie songs of all time' type threads, go into detail.
