Default Annoying missed phone calls.anyone else getting 'em?

some idiot keeps ringing me, never leave a message and when I try and call them back, no matter what time of the day I try it's ALWAYS engaged.

Anyone know where the code 01268 is ?? Or is anyone getting any of these calls.

Weird prank caller if they can't with hold the number. But if it's automated why is there never an answer or anything. Damned annoying. !!!

This happened to me a while back. I would receive a call on my mobile, which did not recognise the number, then would hang up after about 2 rings.
Just as well I never rang back because it turns out it was a scam and the number was a premiun rate line costing up £50 per minute

Well there is no number that costs £50 a minute! Although there was a scam that involved you calling a number that cost £1.50 a minute.

Subject: FW: Mobile Phone Scam - 0709

I have been advised of this scam today from Vodafone.

A missed call may show on your mobile phone. The number is 0709 020 3840! The last four numbers may vary, but the first four numbers will remain the same!

If you call this number back, the charge is £50.00 per minute.

Apparently, this is completely legal.

Do not call back numbers beginning with 0709 as the Trust,(or yourself if it is your personal phone) will be liable for the cost of the call.
