Question Illegal pesticides etc.

Does anyone know where I can find the list of the pesticides, fertilizers etc. that become illegal at the end of March?

I happened to see an article on it in the Daily Mail over the weekend. I haven't seen anything about this new law on any web news sites, and according to the article, there's a possible £5000 fine should you be found in possession of any of the products.

Also, any idea of how you're supposed to dispose of the products, if you have them? I assume chucking them down the drain is illegal...

Depends on how good your chemistry is...

if you feel up to a bit of gas phase hydrogenation or catalyzed electrochemical oxidation then you could do it yourself.... failing that:-

Cheers. Will have a butchers on there later - then do battle with the mutant spiders that are 3 times the usual size for the species, and can only be found in the shed.

Just had a look at the list and I am wondering if I may have some of this stuff in my shed.

It really gets on my pip that government change laws and introduce large fines for non compliance, claim that ignorance of the law is no defence but do bugger all the let people know.

I think its highly unlikely they will go after private individuals for the reason that if they did it would encourage people to dispose of it hurriedly and tip it down the drain or in a river where it would do untold damage compared to sitting on a shelf in your shed!
