Talking UK Cannonball run type thing!

Plans are afoot for a cross country blast around the UK in aid of charity.

So SNers, how do you fancy leaving work early on Friday afternoon – hopping in your car and heading to the south of England. Waiting there would be hundreds of people, hundreds of cars, and spectators, the press and fans cheering you on as you embark on the first leg of your 72 hour adventure across the UK.

With a splash of event livery you'd head out through the crowds to the start of the event. Heading up the red carpet you'd collect your instructions and from there it's off to the first checkpoint.

Every night from then on you’d be staying in the countries most beautiful aaccommodation, enjoying meals prepared by leading chefs and enjoying the company of beautiful machines, and fun people.

And then comes the driving! The plan is for the route to take in some of the country's top locations, exclusive factory tours, prototype testing, race tracks, motor sports teams, drag strips…who knows!?

Over the next 2 days you’ll be flying around the best roads in the country, cheered on at special locations, and having more fun than you ever thought possible.

When the route is over and you’ve reached your final destination there’ll be yet another beautiful hotel just for you! You’ll be able to relax, enjoy another amazing meal and another amazing evening, and get some rest – believe me, you will need it.

The adventures over, but within the space of little over 70 hours you’ve been a rally driver, a race car driver, a celebrity, royalty, and a film star. But what’s really important is you’ve also been a hero!

This event will be run entirely for the benefit of Cancer Research UK and is a charity event rather than a money making scheme. Everything you do throughout the weekend, every time your picture gets taken, every time you sign an autograph or pull into a checkpoint you’ll be helping a charity!

The plan is that there will be no fixed entry fees - only donations. The more money you can raise, the better the chance you'll have of securing a place. Entry donations are expected to soar into the thousands – and rightly so!

What if you live in the South?

I could wave on the way past.

Careful, we don't like strangers down these parts

Any more for any more?

A 22B on the list or a Spec C would be nice!

If only that was true it would be great but sadly with the roads as shít as they are to drive on now with the speed restrictions everywhere it makes the whole idea painful, not to mention potentially costly to the driver and license.

Unfortunately they won't prevent being caught and certainly won't add any enjoyment to the style of driving required on a public highway nowadays.

What on earth has that got to do with me saying driving on public roads is no fun anymore?

I'll refrain from saying that you'll be ok driving a Skoda though.

Oooooppss, I just did.
