Default NTL USERS HEADS UP!

I (as well as at least one other person I know) is getting spammed to high heaven with virus-infected emails from the following NTL IP

(cpc1-glfd2-6-0-custxx.glfd.cable.ntl.com [81.103.49.**])

Now please if this is you, get your virus definitions up to date, as you're sending my virus checker mental!

If you believe the above IP is yours, then please send me a pm and I'll tell you the hidden number.

Ta.

fprgot to say... after the e-mail came back I meant to put a post on here FOA scoobydazza but sort of forgot

Try doing an 'nbtstat -a 81.103.49.**'

if they have no firewall it *may* give you their username if you are lucky!

btw... edited to say that the reason I posted this is because I believe its a Scoobynet reader. Mainly due to the names of the spoofed senders, for example - three of the spoofed emails I've received in the last 24 hours were supposedly from pete@sidc.co.uk, drmotorsport@lineone.net and ets.racing@blueyonder.co.uk.

Or on the flip side...the creator of the virus is a scoobynetter and using aliases and e-mails sourced from here

NTL users are either major hackers or have no virus protection. My firewall picks up several hundred code red attacks a day from NTL users (am on NTL myself). No great surprise, people get Windows, don't realise IIS is running and never bother with anti-virus or windows critical updates

I know what you mean, I think there will be a time soon when either ISP's or OS providers are legally required to include firewall and antivirus software.

Either that or a mass global eductation of the masses on internet secrurity...

My biggest head ache in terms of port scanning etc is comcast, suffice to say I have permananetly blocked most of their IP adress ranges, yet still I get the odd one trying to get through
