Question What's your favourite invention/cleverest idea?

You know those moments when you see something and think "That's neat!". I've got loads but I think the person who thought of putting USB sockets on the front of PCs deserves a medal the size of a dustbin lid.

Over to you.

Cheers
Kav

As long as there's still USB ports at the back as well as the front.
I leave my joystick and scanner permanently connected and it would look messy with all the cables if they were on the front.

I use the one at the front for my MP3 player, so it's definately a good addition.

And one of my favourites, without thinking about it too much, would probably be my MP3 player. CD sized with a 40gb hard disk to take almost my entire CD collection with me all the time :-)

I dearly wish the EU would make adoption of cats-eyes obligatory across Europe.

It won't happen as most countries can't afford to install them so won't vote for the law.

Brilliant things (pardon the pun), I miss them out here.

Talking of USB ports, there is a company that sells an adaptor that plugs into your USB port, the lead then goes to a matt which goes under your cup - AND KEEPS YOUR BREW WARM !!!

Not bad eh ?!?

fave inventions? let's see. The car, that rates highly. As does MP3, music for the digital generation. And also the Internet, without it we would not be bitching on here, nor would we be able to find hard to find tracks, or download **** or movies, or even, from time to time, research on work related products.

Got to agree with that too... its impossible to see the lines on a wet road in Germany without cats-eyes - Magnificent invention! Aparently Germany claims they don't fit them so they can snowplough. Can understand that in the South-East corner where the snow lies all Winter but to make it a national policy for the sake of 50sq miles is a bit silly really!

I think the man/woman who invented the wheel should get a mention here.

I think my favourite invention has to be my ******************** I'm working on at the moment, sadly I cant let you in on it until the patent has been granted
