Thanks Neighbour Part 3
These type of threads have done the rounds before and will always be locked because some people just can't resist advising cruelty.
Therefore, this thread is also being locked.
Therefore, this thread is also being locked.
Why is it that complaints about human behaviour, together with mindless suggestions of retribution go up here every day without moderator harassment, and yet when a well argued debate concerning another species comes up you seek it out and lock it?
Do you have an undisclosed, biased interest in the subject matter?
I'm done now.

I have explained the reason......
Quote: because some people just can't resist advising cruelty.
I haven't 'sought' it out, it was RTM'd, as all other similar threads relating to any form of cruelty to a domestic pet are.

That is the reason you closed my post, however I am asking for the reason it is acceptable to advise cruelty towards humans in other threads but not in those involving cats.
I would expect, given your reasoning, that you would close all threads beginning "some **** stole my car" because invariably people will not be able to resist advising cruelty towards the culprit.
I have had my post closed through no fault of my own in a scenario closely resembling hypocrasy and therefore I have a right to feel aggrieved, hence my rant which, you will be glad to know, is now over.

LMAO @ the mods
Let the cruelty posts START before locking..or better still just delete the post
As for comments on Instinct...BS!!!!
A cat will roam if it is ALLOWED to roam, it's down to the ignorant owners letting them go in and out all day and night.
We stopped having cat flaps since ours decided to invite a few mates round. It is possible to train a cat not to roam. If it is not allowed out of the confines from an early age, then it won't deveolp the sense to explore, and stay close to home when you do let it out.

I am answering your question ONLY to the closing of your particular threads regarding cats.
I have no intention of digressing on to a totally different subject which has absolutely nothing to do with the closing of your first 2 threads, so I am sorry I will not be answering you.
Nothing to do with hyprocrisy at all.

If you have to train a cat NOT to roam, then surely roaming is it's instinct.

Did you know that domestic cats account for 79.4 per cent of the deaths, killing at least 75 million birds and 135 million mammals annually? Well you do now.

Come on guys. I'm sure we have better things to talk about.
Regarding hypocrasy.. the poor mods can only read so much. It is down to the members to RTM threads if necessary. This way, if we miss something (which is inevitable taking the size of the community into account) we know that on the whole the things that offend the membership will be RTM'd and the ones that don't will not. So I can only assume that the threads you mention (Which I haven't seen) were not offensive to anyone, and therefore not reported.
I don't think it's a big deal. I haven't read the other threads this is talking about either so forgive me if I have the wrong end of the stick, but... I'm sure none of us would think it is fine to advise people to harm cats?
All the best
Simon

Not really, never allowing to roam in the 1st place. Ours was never really let out from kitten, and when she grew up ended up not being really that bothered with going outside.
Neighbours opposite - would go out to work and kick theirs out all day, since it was a kitten (probably about a year old now). GUess where it goes now? Who knows! - liked to sit on my bonnet though
If you kick a dog out the house, and you have no gate it can go where it feels. Just this is not accepted and it's easier to keep a dog within confines...well except our doberman when we 1st moved in and we had 4ft fences which he jumped like a race horse (quite amusing - not for the neighbours - go round asking "can we have our dog back please" ).
I can understand its probably very difficult to do it with a cat once it's grown, but it's quite the reverse from a kitten age.

It's also natural to protect your own property, ie, shít from lawn and fish bought with your own money.
Ajm- I'm with you on this one but the mods like to look the caring sharing type every now and then, it's a mod requirement.

However, I didn't want the debate degenerating into a handbag fight so having made my points I am dropping the subject forthwith (witholding the right to complain about bad things that happen in my garden in the future! )
Group hug?

Foxes? They roam the streets here.....they probably do pick off stuff, but they're wild animals - don't have a problem with it.
Are goldfish indigenous to the UK out of interest?

Animals do what they do. They don't have much choice in the matter. We are responsible for bringing domesticated carnivores into the world and we shouldn't moan when they follow their instincts. Destruction of habitat is the cause of dwindling numbers within native bird species not predation by cats. And people who advocate cruelty to lowlife antisocial humans generally don't act upon it. It's a safety valve for people's frustration. I often say "I'd like to knock *****'s teeth out", or something similar, but I haven't actually hit anyone for about twenty years.
