Nice to see he's back after 10 months away fighting cancer.

Stuart Maconie did a great job and should have some recognition (such as replacing the ***** Steve Wright), but it is great that Johnnie is returning.

Well said DouglasB, Apart from Ask Elvis, which IMO is one of the funniest things on radio, Steve Wright is just an irritating, playlist addicted, a**e-kisser. surrounded by a bunch of fawning sycophants.

Out of all the stand-ins Stuart Maconie was far and away the best.

i remember when JW was on bbc london radio, one time he was reminiscing about the '60s:
