Thumbs down Class 11 cost. A fortune

U can have my Class 1 mate. Had it 23 years. Hate the sight of the ruddy things. Only job where u go to jail 4 working to hard. So many bosses ie, police on your back, Ministry on your back, Public always out to get you. Customer always on to you, then your boss. Dont do it mt8. Get a proper job. Pays crap.Conditions are crap. etc etc.Need i go on.

Just my two pennies worth

IIRC it's about £110 per day for the training.
Depends how good you are as to how long you will need
You will also need to pass the theory test first though, and i think they've brought in a hazard perception test now?
Then there's the practical test fee which is about £75-£80.
Not cheap!.

AFAICR it costs us about £1,000 to put a driver through it. if they fail loads of times then the cost goes up rapidly. I think the record in our firm is seven attempts before passing, but these days it's more like three strikes and you're out

There is a place up in Surrey, who IIRC do a 5 day course for Commercial Driver Training, which is just under £800.

I did my class 2 before christmas and class 1 last week (failed that )

You have to do a multiple choice theory test, and a hazard perception test. This will set you back £35. (If u want the theory book and CD ROM for hazard perception let me know.)

You also need to have a medical at your doctors - this takes about 15 mins and costs about £70

Then there are the con artists to deal with (DVLA) About £20 to get another catergorry put on your license.

I paid just short of £800 for a 3 day course (mon, tue, wed morning, test on wed afternoon) This included the test fee and an assesment taken a few weeks before - basically driving around for an hour and they will tell you how many lessons you need)

Hope this helps,

Matt

And then when you have it, unless you work in the soft south, you'll spend the next year, probably two, putting money into an agency's pocket at £5 an hour for you, as no-one will take you on without experience:
