You should start your auction on a Thursday evening and run it for 10 days.

The reason for this is, weekends are the busiest and by setting your auctions this way you'll get two "rush hours" in one go.

Please note this isn't what works best for just me, it's a well known fact about ebay.

Regards,
Peter

Hi OPM

The best end times (I've found) are usually weekday evenings say from 7:30ish up to 10 or 11pm. And Sunday afternoons
It depends really upon what it is you're selling.
If you aim for somewhere in the mid-evening then generally people are in from work and have gotten dinners out of the way.
I've had really good results on auctions ending around 8pm on Mondays.

The more blurb, pictures and usless info you can put in your auction then the better.
For some reason some people seem to be prepared to pay more if you've filled up the listing with no end of bulls**t!

Dont put a reserve price on and start the auction at a patheticly low amount.
That way people are gonna think there in for a bargin and should bid like mad. If it comes to the end of the auction and its nowhere near a price you're happy with, then simply end the auction.
Put in your sale conditions you're prepared to end the auction early and no-one can complain.

Hope this helps

Tony

It depends what you're selling.

I find work days, between 11am and 3pm (not 12-1) the best and evenings between 7 an 9.

Never end things over the weekend as traffic is far lighter on ebay then and most bids come in the last hour.

For the best bargains check it out on a Sat night as it's at its most quiet then.

I put quite alot of stuff on Ebay a month ago and I did it on a Sunday afternoon. However I felt that I was probably missing Sunday evening which indeed seems busy. Also Monday evening is busy with people uploading new auctions so their auctions take in the weekend.

Definately make sure you get a full weekend and have it ending in the evening like 7.30 to 9.00 or similar.

I was amazed that the auctions I thought no one would be interested were then ones that people bid on first.
