Question What do you feed your Zebra Pleco?

We've had one for a couple of years in a community tank. We have been leaving him some cucumber slices near his log hideaway but recently other fish have been muscling in and left over cucumber is slimey stuff and tends to foul water and filter. What else can we feed him and how do we prevent other fish from getting there first? Thanks, DL

My common plecs live off naturally formed algae on the plants and wood in the tank, they also like left over scraps of fish left by my red bellies. They are still small at the moment and I don't have to feed them anything especially they just hoover up the tank and keep it tidy!

Maybe you could try some sinking catfish pellets carefully aimed for his cubby hole?
