Default Freelance Courier

Is there anyone on here who does it?

Im thinking about doing something like this in my summer uni break. Do you just need your own vehicle and make some contacts and thats it? What are everyones thoughts on it?

i bought a manual about doing this,
decided NOT to do it
just for a few reasons.
1, in the yellow pages there are hundreds of experienced postal couriers.
2, not many will trust a new (one-man army)
3, especially someone who goes direct to the company.

anyway good luck

Exclamation

A lad I used to know used to deliver lost luggage - mostly between manchester and newcastle IIRC - he drove a salty old battered astra van, and ran it on red diesel, it was quite financially viable

If its the same manual I know of, then the only person that makes money out of it is the author...

Been in the Sameday Express Courier industry since the mid/late 80s, predominantly in London, but National too. I have made a good living from it, both as a driver/rider & as a controller/manager/IT.

Where are you based and what are your intentions workwise? As a rule "studies" are not looked on well in line with the full-timers plus (& this is the reason) you'll be looking for work during the holiday season, which is a traditionally quiet time, hence taking work away from the regulars.

Let us know location/area intended to work.
