Any help would be much appreciated.

There are a few round about here but they are military personnel so I would imagine the air force move them, might be worth while talking to some of the companies in this country who sell american motors, they might even have a spare space next time their shipping?

James,
email me as per profile with regard to make, model and spec.
My brother manages one of the UK's largest american car import insurance scheme's and im sure he will know someone who can help you out.
Have you found the specific car you want or are you after a generic car. If the second I know he has a contract with a very reputable american importer in specific who is very good.

I found most Florida dealers were happy to stick it on the boat for you on a new car.
There is an American car importer in Kingston - maybe they could help...?
I had to can the idea as our lovely country's taxes added a huge margin to the cost.
I looked at the Infiniti RX45 - fabulous value and a great drive; what are you looking at?

JSW, about 12-14 years ago I used these people to bring a MGA back from the US.

They arranged pick up from Indianapolis with delivery to my door. I used RO-RO but have heard a few horror stories. I didn't have any probs. If you containerise you normally need a few bike, jetskis or other large items to help justify the extra cost.

Diesel: I'd agree with you on the FX45. I saw a few when I was in NYC a few months ago, and couldn't believe they don't sell it over here. I watched a motoring programme which reviewed it when I was there too and they raved about it. It's just under $45k over there, and I bet it could be over here with all taxes covered for a lot less than a high end Discovery or Shogun.
I'd be seriously interested in the new model Ford Mustang too, considering they reckon it costing the equivilent of about £13k new.

Yeah I actually drove the FX45 and it was great - huge 20" wheels, 350BHP, taught and rather unique for here! May consider buying an used one cheap from a mate in a few years...
[Its so nasty the way we get stung for the tax though - they seem to run the States ok without such huge car taxes and the huge tax on petrol.]
