Prank phone calls, help needed
A friend of mine is getting prank phone calls from a guy aftering advertising his car for sale. It's nothing serious, just annoying. Whoever it is can't be very bright cos my friends got their mobile number.
If it doesn't stop in a couple of days he's going to retaliate, has anyone any ideas of suitable things to sign him up to/annoy him with?
Cheers
Brian

A few weeks ago I got two silent phonecalls within a couple of minutes. They didn't withold their number, so I simply did a quick seach on google for the complete number. Turns out they had a caravan for sale, and their number was listed on the website.
The next time they phoned there was silence for about 5 seconds then I said "Hello, is that Douglas?".
"How did you know my name?!!" he replied in a rather surprised voice

A guy was pissing me off at work a few years ago, so I had some taxi cards made up with his home and mobile number on it, I then went round all the pubs and clubs on a night out and left them by the phones.

Fog horn down the phone will give his ears a treat.
Or if you have time, make some 'appropriate' cards and post them in phone boxes all over london.
There are a couple of other things, but they are my patented ideas

however it might be innocent, call centres have now started a new system developed in the states, it makes a call and if you answer it transfers you to an available person, if no one is available it hangs up but it sounds like there might be someone there, being quiet, and when you do 1471 its number witheld.

I had some scouse git wake me up at 2:30am on sunday night. He said "did I wake you up?" to which I replied "yes" and he said "good, thats what I meant to do" and put the phone down. Did 1471 and number witheld. Half an hour later the phone rang again and I let the machine get it. did 1471 again and this time they hadn't witheld their number. Called them straight back and a young-sounding girl answered, a bit warily "hello?" she said. "Call this ******* number again and I'll ******* kill you" and then I waited for a response. There was silence followed by the phone going down and I haven't heard anything more since. Half-term, eh?

If your with BT, there is a facility that wont let any calls in that doesnt send its CLI (ie if you 141 the call it just puts you to an announcement saying that this person doesnt accept calls from barred numbers), this is the best way to go me thinks

It's called 'anonymous call rejection' and bounces any anonymous (e.g. switchboard, telesales etc.) or witheld number calls. They do charge £9.99 a quarter for it but it's pretty handy IMO.

Whistles or foghorns down the phone doesnt do what your trying to do!
The sound at his end is only a loud as the speaker on his phone, and thats not loud at all.
So if your hoping for bleeding, burst eardrums its not going to happen.
IMHO the best thing to do is put your phone down each time he rings, when I say down, I mean on the table, floor etc. He will soon get bored talking to nobody.

I used to work in a takeaway and there was a customer who made a fake order. delivered it, but owner said they didn't place an order, the number they gave was a fake, got back to the shop (luckily no other orders was in) dialed 1471 and tada. the number was 1 number different ,
so as i used to go out in the mornings to the veg market opens 4am
i gave him a call 2 - 3 days a week, wait to he pick up the phone to say hello then put the phone down. the first couple of times he sounded very wearily. until one day he shouted down the phone "**** OFF" i thought it was very funny never called back until one day i went to visit my sister at london. set off at 1am, got there about
5 - 6 am saw a phone box put 10p in and let it ring.
:lol
