Limited Co debt?
A mate of mine used to live (ie rent a room) with me and he ran a small business from the spare room.
A few days ago the new tenants were delivered a court summons for a debt related to unpaid Corporation Tax (£200 + £12 costs).
My questiuons is will this have any effect on my "credit file"

Ouch!! Quite possibly, the credit rating is usually by premises rather than person, hence why people sometimes move hosue and find their credit rating drops through the floor because the previous owners had a poor rating. Having said that, not sure of the implications with it being a company. Hope your deeds allow trading from the prmises or you may have other problems to deal with

They changed the rules on credit ratings and it is now down to surnames at an address. Providing your mate has a different surname, you should be OK.
Might be worth writing to the court to explain he is no longer at that address. Otherwise you may get visits from bailliffs - although they can't take anything that doesn't belong to your mate, it's a hassle you could do without.
