I've been having a little look around for a car seat type office chair. I only found the V expensive Recaro Type that blew a £500 hole in the budget

I've heard rumours that that you can get a fitting kit for any car seat and make it into a wheeled office chair anyone know where from ?

Any info on car breakers would be good looking for RB5/P1 seats if I find the kit

Craig.

I'd also like to do something like this - I already have the donor base from an office chair here at work

Any idea if its easy to do DIY or are there co's that will do this for you?

My mate used to build them using recaros and classic porsche seats (will full electrics)

They look cool - but as mentioned they are fecking uncomfortable even for a couple of hours...

Curious as to how you sit in your car? Lol, I thought car seats were among the most researched type of seating in regard to orthopaedic correctness. I realise that your legs are at a different angle in a car but a lot of good quality office chairs seem to mimic car seat design so surely they cant be that bad, I wouldn't mind trying to do something with the pair of Recaro's up in the loft,

BAT Motorsport have a Magnum one piece seat that should have made its way in to a rally car in the office on wheels, might be worth a call, 0151 709 8585. I know it was a gift to them but they'll know whats required in replicating it!

stop and think ppl!

the body position sat at a desk is totaly different to being sat in a car...in every sense.

in a car your knees are high compared to the hip, the pelvis is tilted back, your arms stretch forward and rest at chest level...thats not how you sit at a desk.

your body position is more upright and slightly forward tilited- hence why a herman has a forward tilt function.
