After the ban... How Shall I tell Insurance???
#1
Just in case you hadn't known; I was convicted / accused of speeding and have been sentenced a 28 day ban with a £500.00 fine.
If you want to read more about this, please see the link below;

However my major new question is...
What shall I explain to the insurance broker... how shall I break the news...
a] I have legal cover, how can that assist me... (when I appeal)
b] Any idea how much my insurance will go up by; I have 5 NCB
Thanks in advance

Just phone them up and explain to them, you're not the first so don't think that the person on the other end of the phone will judge you!
I suspect their legal cover may only be there to assist in the event of a claim (ie. accident).
Expect to shop around to get a better quote than the one they give you, find a specialist insurer who deals with people who have had convictions for speeding. Your 5yrs NCD will go in your favour.
Good luck and slow down

I was banned for dangerous driving about 6 years ago. Nothing you can do but bite the bullet and tell them, and be totally honest. Its far better to be paying a bit more for insurance than to find them rufusing to pay out and accusing you of non-disclosure.
I kept my 5 years no-claims but the premiums went up quite a bit, i'd expect a ban for speeding won't cost you nearly as much.
Anyway, it comes off your license in 4 years

Oh yeah, and make sure you emphasise that you didn't have an accident when you were nicked - the 5 years NCB should help. Shop around for better quotes, i think Swinton were ok for me when i came off the ban - now it's over 5 years Direct Line are cheaper (i still always disclose the ban even though it came off my license last year).
