Angry

im rather pissed off at the moment. After spending £hundreds£ on driving to get my license i have now found out the indian woman next door is driving on an Indian license. They have been here for years so i dont think it will still be valid to drive on.

Is she driving illegaly?
Does this mean no insurance?
Can i shop her?

Its up to you!

Take your pick, a car parked next door, or an elephant.

Id rather have the car, as an elephant can be smelly and noisey!

Which country is it where you only have to drive 6 foot forward, then reverse 6 foot back without hitting anything to pass?

If it's India then good luck when she parks next to your car! lol

When I went there I was told that you drive 100yds in a straight line. Whether you pass or not depends on the size of the bribe you give to the examiner. Corruption is the backbone of that nation.

Ironically I believe she is totally legal as i'm sure the cráp driver on Britains Worst Drivers was in a similar position because Quentin Wilson made a comment about it.

Edited to say it's certainly walid (NB friendly accent)for 12 months and can then be renewed in India.

Tell her you will shop her unless she cuts you in at tea time, lovely free home made Indian dishes for ever !

PS, you will end up making a **** of yourself if she turns out to have a licence, get your facts straight and dont get on your moral high ground so quickly. Find out covertly and if she doesnt have a licence then you can do soemthig as we all have had to do it but tread carefully and ask youself if she was English/Irish/Scottish/Welsh would you have even thought it ?

You could end up alienating your neighbours and looking like a racist t*at.

i would shop anyone who doesnt have a license.
Ive had a GT6 sat on the drive and the keys in my hand for the past 5 months but didnt drive it till i got my license. If i have to fork out for a license/insurance and the lot so should everyone else.
its only fair.

and she's dangerous.

Wink

LOL please don't tell me you don't know what a GT6 is???

You should be banned fron this site if you call yourself a car enthusiast and not know what a GT6 is

BTW it's a Spitfire with a roof and 6 cylinders

Ah, I see I wasn't thinking old cars. I thought maybe there was an AWD Celica with the 6 cylinder IS300 engine or something available in the UK.

Alx

I think the person making the "point" referred to the ad for a Peugot 307 & the performance version is referred to as a GT6

Poorguy,

Has she shown you her license?

How do you know it's an Indian license and that she doesn't have a UK one?

I havent seen the license.
A friend across the road saw her appauling driving and asked if she had one. She said she is driving on an indian license. And even if she does hold a UK license she should have it taken off her. She drove into the garage the other week FFS!
(yes the door was closed)

My thoughts

I am not sure of the status of an Indian Licence for a start.
Re insurance - One of the first questions they ask is do you have a UK licence and for how long have you held it?
No sure how she is answering this and maybe an Indian licence covers her. She may however be uninsured. It is worth a call to the DVLC to ask about licences if you are concerned.

Her driving - If she is dangerous IYHO then call the local Police and advise them - They may be interested.

Re grassing - Regards dangerous driving or any driving related matters i would grass someone up and have done. Apart from the fact that we pay for thier mistakes i would feel pretty bad if the dangerous driver hit or even killed someone when i could have done something about it.

Re GT6 - i quite like them but 'real men' got Midgets and Sprites
