being seeing a girl for a while and things are going very well. anyway to show how much she means to me im thinking of taking her away for weekend. as valentimes is now only a few weeks off think ill sort something out..

anyway what im thinking of doing is taking her away to london a couple of nights. can anyone rec a good hotel 2 stay at for the friday and sat night which i won't end up paying $$$. and also whats the best way of booking a restuarant on friday night? can anyone rec one which won't kill my wallet (student here)
saturday i thought i would take her out sight seeing in london then sat night take her to the electric cinema notting hill as she is mad about the classic style cinema. then sunday we would head back. so if anyone has any help! as im a student and its first time iver done anything like this.

I guess it depends on your budget. Good and cheap are a bit of a contradiction in terms, especially in central London. Not only that, all the half decent restaraunts are not cheap, and even the poorer ones will stiff you an arm and a leg.

My own personal opinion would be a country house somewhere... probably cheaper and way more romantic...

still racking my brains on a hotel, but for a restaurant that fits your bill you can do a hell of a lot worse than;

The Wishing Well

188 King Street, London, W6 0RA Map
Nearest Tube Station: Hammersmith
Tel: 020 8748 7730

very easy to get to, service is excellent, food is very nice, price is very reasonable. Last time I was there, they had just opend a second one a couple of doors down, but the original has a much more romantic and better feel. I took 9 people out for a meal and it only cost me approx £120, thats full three course and drinks, if you sit down before 1930.

there is also a UGC cinema just across the road so you can do the meal then a flick!

if you need anymore help send me an email as per profile.

HTH

I'll second the use of londontown.com, be sure to look here for swanky eateries at discounted / special rates

Don't forget, if it's Valentines Day most London restaurants will be packed. Also worth checking menus specific to Valentines day as some restaurants will have a different menu.

I stayed at a place called Pennyhill Park once. Very nice place. It's pretty big though, with conference facilities, etc. That's out in Bagshot, a nice part of the country, near the Windsor Woods. Nice drives around there, too
