Richer Sounds

Have they lost there knowlege, I remember when they used to sell you what you wanted rather then what they have to shift off the shelves.
I also recently found the sales guys not to have the indepth knowledge of products as they used to was rather disappointed.
It seems thay have lost the personal touch they used to have.

Pontificating
I also agree and I did send Richer an e-mail about 1 month ago, I got the obligatory automated reply and nothing since.

Best thing is to do your own research and then use richer sounds but armed with your own knowledge. I wanted a Marantz SR4400 receiver, the guy tried to sell me more expensive stuff and other things too, but I'd done my homework, stuck to my guns and I'm chuffed to bits with my amp.

Richer Sounds, like Hyper-Fi, and a lot of shops down Tottenham Court Road, are excellent in one respect - price.
I've been dealing with Audio-T recently and they couldn't have been more helpful. I've also had good experience with Sevenoaks Hi-fi, and also Rayleigh hi-fi, although there's no such concept of a "bargain" there....

Tel - did Audio T actually have Chord stuff for you to listen to? Did they get it in specially? The problem I found with them is although they are really friendly, helpful, let you spend hours messing about in their dem room, the actual range of stuff they have at the higher end of the market is a bit limited.

Yep, they're a Chord agent mate, and on very good terms with the company as far as i can make out. The staff at Reading are apparently their A-team, or at least right up there. Maybe there's more people with cash over in Berkshire..!!

right - i knew they were an agent for chord, but they certainly don't have any of the products in the shop i use (Enfield). Maybe I'll just have to move to the home counties...

Or a trip to Reading - they have the stuff sitting on the shelves, just waiting for somebody with cash burning a hole in their pocket..!
You thinking of getting into Chord then?

Bought my Kef Cresta speakers from Audio T, Yamaha DSPA-5 amp from Sevenoaks Hi-fi, Tosh SD200E dvd player off some internet site, and speaker cable from Richer Sounds
Richer Sounds have definitely changed service wise - not the knowledge base there once was (in the stores I go to anyway)

tbh not at the moment as i couldn't justify the expense until the kitchen is sorted or/and i've won the lottery or something...
it would definitely be a contender for my "ultimate" system, though, and i would like to have a listen.
i'm pretty happy with what i have at the moment, although i would probably splash out on a new tt if the economic outlook was favourable.

Ive never come across a more negative opening page to a sales website that their.
http://www.richersounds.co.uk/
Why don't they just make it a one page site saying, "Hey, don't buy here!"

PC, you can order stuff from Richer Souds on the net I've done it two or three times now.
That aside I've got to agree with most of the comments above, the Edinburgh shop used to be pretty good, even had a demo room, but after the fire in the near by area they refitted and guess what demo room is now a store room The Glasgow shop seems better but it's in an area that looks like Beiruit and still no demo room.
Look about choose the stuff you like then order it from them on their web-page thats what I do.
John.

PC, just read the opening page for the web-site (never bothered reading that before ) think they should update their info a bit, I've never had an ice-lolly in the summer or a coffee in the winter, I've got soaked a few times (wheres these so called umbrellas for customers ) and as I've already said no demo rooms in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
