Its a joke
Far better and more pressing things that need that sort of cash pouring into it at the mo...

Can see the headlines now-

"100m final delayed due to signal problems at kings cross"

Of all the cities in the world, london is probably not the best one to choose....baghdad may be a better choice

I can't think of a worse place to put it than London - even Bam has got to be a better choice.

The usual Bair exercise in self-aggrandisement. There will be plenty of nice junkets to enjoy, before they lose.

Forgot to say - nice junkets to enjoy - at the Poll Tax payers' expense of course.

I'd be more inclined to support it if it went elsewhere in the UK: London gets EVERYTHING.
Look at the nonsense of the new national stadium at Wembley: it ought to be at the NEC site.

And what did any other towns get for the millenium?
London got a new bridge, a wheel ,and the dome.

Up north, we just got a few more unemployed.:

Because it's london, i've no doubt they will get all the support they need. It would have been nice to see Manchester get it when they tried a few years ago, but they didn't seem to get sufficient support.

John.

I don't want it. As a London council tax payer I will end up paying for it. For the next 20 fecking years. Also if it is in London it will be ****.

I too don't want it. It will be partially paid for by us mugs that live here in our council tax.

This city is already packed to the rafters and the transport/road systems can barely cope as it is.

The UK has no other city of any decent size or of repute to host an event of this size, so it's London or abroad.
