Think i may have been had by one, didn't realise amber had been on quite so long. Just as i went past the light I saw it change to red. I immediately looked in my rear view mirror and did NOT see the camera flash.
1) Do they even use flash??
2) How long after red->amber are they activated
3) I assume it's 3 points, will it affect premium much?
4) Will they work out my speed from the photos?
Thanks for any HELP..
Andy

Just to add:
I wasn't intentionally "jumping" i was going too fast to stop, but there is a huge time gap before anything would have been coming across that side of the junction (dual carriageway), so it wasn't like i was inconveniencing(sp) people turning right.

the ones in the uk do not measure speed, only if you go over the sensors in the road when it is at red.also it has to flash a i beleive truvelo do not do red light cameras yet.and i think it is 3 pts and £60 notes.i think you have got away with it if it didn't flash.good luck, blunosewrx

Thanks!
I was hoping it wasn't a problem as I saw no flash. I've seen those things flash before. I went over the line literally 0.5sec after it went red!
I was only slightly over with the speed (dual carriageway) as I was removing someone from my bumper - thats why i didn't consider anchors when i saw it was amber.
ahhhhh well.

im sure it goes from green to red in under a second
i was doing the limit and it started to change and i locked up and stopped ontop of the sensor in the road
i made sure i never left the sensor until green was in effect!

BTW Amber means STOP.
I think the last bit might apply in this case if you read his thread fully
AMBER means 'Stop' at the stopline. You may go on only if the AMBER appears after you have crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to pull up might cause an accident
