Generally speaking, when burning jos sticks, you only do one at a time right?
Why do the holders have more than one hole?
I know it's a crap question, but i have my reasons

No, not at all, infact I've seen fist fulls of these being burnt. No rule about this at all.

For large spaces such as temples you may want to use more than one
