Tour of Jordan f1 factory
#4
I went on the Jordan factory tour as a work jolly - it was fab; went to the board room where they had all the trophies, the carbon fibre autoclave, saw the Honda engines that come pre-assembled from Japan ready for mating to the chassis, and a trip over to the windtunnel while they were doing testing. The best bit was the makeshift 'museum' of all their cars, located underneath the windtunnel.
Enjoy !

I went there with Total oils a few years back, during the time when Barrichelo and Irvine were still driving for the team. At that time (they may still do so) Total were the lubricant sponsors for Jordan, and a good day it was too.
We were given the full guided tour, the chance to sit in a few of the cars, a full three course lunch was then supplied by Jordan and then it was over to the track (Jordan is at Silverstone) to see the cars being put through their paces on an official test.
We were there at the time when Villneuve was being considered for the Williams drive alongside Damon Hill, and we had a very interesting walk down the pit lane.
In short, not only did we see the factory, but we also saw the cars being driven in anger. Bloody good day out.
It is perhaps worth bearing in mind that there is no cost to enter the track at Silverstone when official testing days are being held, but that is a by the by.
I wouldn't mind doing another visit in the future, although I did visit the Arrows factory before they went bust as I had a friend who worked for TWR as the chief aviation pilot.
